HRT 3 (popularly called Treći program, formerly known as HTV Z3), is a channel operated by the Croatian Radiotelevision, first aired in 1989 as Z3, but went off-air on September 16th, 1991 due to the damage its transmitter had taken by an air raid during the Croatian War of Independence. On November 7th, 1994 it was relaunched under the name of HRT 3. It was mostly reserved for entertainment and sports programming. On March 28th 2004, it was shut down again and its frequency forwarded to RTL Croatia.
Since its deactivation, Croatian Radiotelevision has been planning to relaunch it along with HRT 4. According to a contract with the Croatian government, the two channels should air by December 31st, 2012. The relaunch of HRT 3 was confirmed in a way by the acting program scheme leader at the time, Bruno Kovačević, on March 1st, 2012, when he stated that HRT's primetime programming would improve. In April 2012, a contract which obligates the channel's launch by the end of the year was signed.
HRT 3 relaunched on September 15th, 2012, replacing HRT Plus and featuring mostly films and series from European, Asian and South American film makers, but also renowned and undisputably quality-made films.
And all non-Croatian films series are subtitled instead of dubbed.
